  1. Hi Dan, I've found georeferencing a jpg image in Google Earth to be a tedious and somewhat imprecise process. Thank you so much for your two-point drag and drop method of doing it in ExGPS. It's now easy, fast and quite precise. I couldn't be more pleased with the result. Rod
  2. I'm having the same problem Fred is having with layers. I'm using Win 8.1 and EGPS 5.69. The issue seems to be new with this latest 5.69 version.
  3. Many Thanks for 5.65. Works great. Just what I wanted to be able to do.
  4. Hi Dan, Thanks for replying. I'm attaching three .gpx track files that have different types and different colors. I would like to be able to have them on separate layers that I could easily toggle on and off as desired. There are other tracks that I would like to similarly add as separate layers with unique colors. These three are just an example. The stone walls .gpx file is made up of many individual tracks but I want to handle them collectively, all on a single layer. It would seem to me that just having the original type color carry over to the applicable layer would satisfy my desire. It would do what I want to do. I will eventually use the resulting package in the field using a MS Surface Pro tablet (win8.1) and a Garmin Glo gps sensor, which, btw, works great with ExGPS and Franson GPS Gate. 5. I create a new track type using the color red and save it as a .gpx file. When I later add that .gpx file as a new layer, the color comes in as white. I would like different track types to have different colors when added as different layers. How can I do that? I am aware that the edit button is not functional in the organize layers dialog as the layers are read-only. I'm using ExGPS 5.64. Thanks, Rod
  6. What is the significance of the bar color (yellow vs. green) on the satellite map during real time tracking? Thanks, Rod
  7. Bingo! I think I've got it. In options/main preferences under tracking, I changed from com 3 to com 4 and now I have information transfer to ExGPS. Yay. This is going to be fun to use. Too bad it's raining outside today or I'd take it out for a field test.
  8. Some additional information: The status lights on the Glo are solid, indicating both a satellite lock and a connection to ExGPS. However, there is no apparent data transfer to ExGPS. For example, when I go to "View Satellites", no information is shown. There are four com ports indicated for the Glo. All four ports currently have the default settings 9600,8,N,1,None. Computer is MS Surface Pro 3. OS is Win 8.1, fully patched. ExGPS is Ver. 5.44. Is there something simple that I'm missing? What do I need to do to make tracking work?
  9. Hello Dan, I received the Glo today and paired it up with my Surface Pro 3. After running Expert GPS and invoking "Real Time GPS Tracking" both the Surface and the Glo indicate a connected status. However, nothing seems to work. I tried adding the Glo in the "Add GPS" dialog box but it was not listed there. Perhaps that's the problem? I'm using the latest version - 5.44. Can you advise what else I should try? Thanks, Rod
  10. Thanks Dan. I ordered one today and am anxious to try it out.
  11. Anyone using the Garmin Glo bluetooth GPS receiver with ExpertGPS? I'm considering purchasing one to use with ExGPS on my Surface Pro 3 and would like any comments. Thanks, Rod
  12. The website indicates the latest version is 5.41. The change log indicates the latest version is 5.42. When I try to update using "check for new version now" I get a dialog that says I am running the latest version (5.40) and will not let me proceed to update further. What next? Note: there seemed to be a "hiccup" in reported versions when updating between 5.37 and 5.40. Rod
  13. Yes, it works fine now. Thanks Dan.
  14. I installed the 5.23 update this morning like I've done with prior updates but the program keeps telling me I still have version 5.22. I've tried this a couple of times with the same result. Has 5.23 actually been posted for download yet?
  15. Great. Thanks Dan.
