eTrex 10 deleting geocaches in Easy GPS

3 posts in this topic

How do I delete geocaches from my eTrex 10?

Waypoints and Tracks can be deleted using the unit's own interface without connection to PC, but the only way I've found to delete geocaches so far is to connect to PC and use Windows Explorer (I'm running Windows XP at present). Trouble is, Explorer only displays GC codes and not cache names.

The workaround I'm using at the moment is to have an Explorer window open side-by-side with Easy GPS so that I can see which GC codes correspond to which caches. It's a bit Heath-Robinson though. If I delete from within Easy GPS it doesn't actually delete from the eTrex 10. Do I have to save back to the eTrex from Easy GPS? Does that overwrite what's in the eTrex?

Any sensible advice on this appreciated. Thanks!

1. Connect device to your pc

2. Go to my computer.

3. click on device.

4. open Garmin file.

5. Click on GPX file.

6. Find GC code you wish to delete.

7. right click.

8. Select Delete

9. Follow above steps for all caches you wish to delete.

I know its a faff but if you put your caches on individually you have to remove them individually.

Once you get the list of Geocaches..... select one and  highlight it, then push  "control" while holding it down you can click on however many you want to highlight them for deletion.
