.loc vs .gpx

As I understand it, geocaching waypoint files contain basically the same information, but .gpx format has a bit ‘more’.

Can some kind, knowledgably person enlighten me as to what the .gpx has that the .loc does not?

GPX contains almost all of the information displayed on the Geocaching.com Web site: hints, full description, found and did not find logs, terrain & difficulty ratings.

All of this information from the GPX file is available in GeoBuddy.
