Converting MAGELLAN wp TO GARMIN

Received a new Garmin 76Cx for Christmas and am trying to convert my WPs from my Magellan Meridian Marine using EasyGPS. After following all of the setup for the Garmin, I keep getting the error message " Received language not recognized" from EasyGPS with no data transfer. The Garmin shows "Connected" on its display and responds but WPs are not transferred. Anyone have the same response?

Within Expert GPS the data can be converted directly but I'm not sure about Easy GPS.....here's a pure guess that I think will work.

Find and download a Free program named GPSBabel, to convert from Magellan to GPX format.

Then use Easy or Expert GPS or Mapsource to send the waypoints (now in gpx format) to your Garmin.
