my Garmin Legend has Serial D9 connector and its menu asks for COM1 and Baud rate.
I connect it through adaptor cable after installing USB driver that came with cable.
When I run the easygps with the Garmin I get the message "something else" is connected to the port.
There is not, not even PalmSync. The software I installed is a SIM editor for GSM phones, which includes the USB-serial. Since GPS is not a phone it appears the SIM software considers it "something else" and cannot handle anything else but GSM.

The instlled software consist of 2 parts: The USB+serial and the SIM Ed. I removed the SIM Ed. via control panel - no change - still the same message: Something else using the port. There is not.

I could not find a solution on Topografix website - eg a computer USB to handheld (GPS) Serial convertor software.
The USB must simulate COM1 + Baudrate.

pls provide link to solution description.

Could it be NMEA issue on the GPS? Is NMEA on or off?
